From 250 to 4,000 lb. cap. Aluminum T-Frame Portable Gantry Cranes
What makes our T Frame model aluminum gantry style worth looking at? It is their portability. Just about every gantry manufacturer out there makes what we refer to as fixed leg A frame gantry crane… including us. That’s fine if the gantries home is going to be a shop or you have a large rigging truck to transport it from job to job. An A Frame gantry base is approximately 5’ tall by 5’ wide. Our T Frame gantry base widths range in length from 48” to 68” long. BUT here is what sets our T Frame models apart. It is our base height. Our largest model (4K cap) base height is only a 45 ½” tall. What does that mean to you? It means our 4T810 model gantry which has an 8’ long I beam, 10 foot max height under beam; 4,000 lb cap gantry can fit into your 4 x 8 pickup bed with a lock top or even a Dodge Caravan style service van. An A Frame gantry would just not fit in that same amount of space. You may now be thinking that I can get a fold up style A Frame that would fit. Not in a 4,000 lb cap. For those of you that want to keep your gantry secured while on a job or overnight in a hotel parking lot waiting for tomorrow’s job, this is the ideal gantry crane for you. The shorter base height for portability and easier assembly and our optional cart assemblies are why EC&MW specifically designed the T Frame portable gantry crane with service technicians in mind.
Model 4T108 in it’s lowest position. 10 foot beam length and 8 foot under beam.

Learn about our standards
EC&MW cranes are designed in conformance with the following applicable standards (not all are relevant to an individual crane):
General Design Standards:
We meet or exceed general design standards:
- OSHA 1910.179 – OSHA requirements for Overhead and Gantry Cranes
- ANSI B30.17 – Cranes and Monorails (with Underhung Trolley or Bridge)

All EC&MW cranes have a design factor of 15% of the allowable capacity for the weight of the hoist and 25% for impact.
Please note that CMAA 74 references steel design. In the case of our aluminum cranes, the deflection may be greater than CMAA 74 specifies due to the lower modulus of elasticity of aluminum compared to steel.
Aluminum Structure Design Standards:
We meet or exceed aluminum structure design standards:
- Aluminum Design Manual 2010 by The Aluminum Association
- ASTM B221 Aluminum Alloy Extruded Shape and Tube
Steel Structure Design Standards:
